Wedding Bells

This weekend my aunt and uncle finally tied the knot! After 24 years together, it was about time too..

Jo, my fabulous aunt spent her youth touring the catwalks as a model, so it was always going to be a glamourous, albeit small, affair. Despite my uncle also being my godfather and one of my favourite people, he's been and done so many things it's all a bit confusing!
At some point we know he had a cameo role in a James Bond film, and was once a quite serious pop star in New Zealand.

I wore a tophop dress, a vintage mink stole, a pretty Zara clutch and my studded Kurt Geigers.

My fab sister is in an amazing Massimo Dutti dress which can be found here.

Some people see the similarity, but sadly all I see are the good genes I didn't inherit (boobs and a bum to be specific...)
It was an evening event, filled with canapes, burgers and vodka shots (apparently an homage to the Russians among us).
Me and my fabulous mumma

Godparents, and the most fantastically caring people I know
Some may say the most important thing is the ring... (me, those people are me. Its beautiful)

We all had a lovely day, a lovely escape from revision, now back to reality... #ALevels

The Book Club

I can't think of anything better than sitting by the fire on a Sunday afternoon and reading a great book with a mug of Earl Grey.
" A room without books is like a body without a soul "- Cicero

Being a self-confessed pretentious book lover, there is nothing I love more than telling people amazing things they should read and getting new book suggestions.

It's been a struggle, but I put together a list of my absolute favourite books:

Tess of the D'Ubervilles, Hardy
Les Miserables, Viktor Hugo
A Town Like Alice, Nevil Shute
The Virgin Suicides, Jeffery Eugenides
Brighton Rock, Graham Greene
Valley of the Dolls, Jaqueline Susann
Trainspotting, Irvine Welch
The Host - Stephanie Meyer

Please share your favourites too! There is quite literally nothing more rewarding than giving someone a book recommendation and them coming back telling you how much they loved it!

Seeing as we're exhausted from all these exams, getting fit summery stuff lets take a minute to chill out and read.

After all, the Book is becoming extinct don't you know..

The newest addition

I am a cat person. I'm thinking of starting a collection, just in case I become a crazy old spinster - I'll need something other than a shoe collection for company...

With this being said, I present the newest, cutest, cuddliest member of the cat collection: Pip!

He's the naughtiest little boy kitten, he gets everywhere - we once found him snuggled in my birthday Prada bag - this was not a good day..

Just as we think the novelty is wearing off, and he's officially banished to the utility room, he flashes us one of these faces...
...Who can resist?!

Hope you love him,

Sandles

Summer 2013 heralds the arrival of the new classy, dainty and overwhelmingly pretty spangly sandle.

To quote Style magazine, ditch 'the stripper heel' and the sky-scrapper platforms, this summer calls for a more down to earth affair.

I picked up the most lovely, flattering pair in Zara (here) for only £30.

As they are indeed everywhere, I thought I'd give you my own edit of the most fabulous pairs for each of your fashion alter egos:

Mine are simple, for the classic and less overt of us out there:

This pair (featured in Style) are by River Island and cost £70, but worth it for that beautiful blue.
The expensive looking style, without the price tag:

Girly, muted and ever-so pretty: Asos £45

The sexed-up sandle: Zara £30
Sci-fi metalics court shoe style: Topshop £58
Or if you want something a bit more edgey these are on sale in KG.

If you're looking for something a bit more special: LOOK NO FURTHER!!

Louboutin is the only way, and if money were no object these are the ultimate.

For those of you out there who can't quite face losing the platform? I've been lusting after these for so long:

Miu Miu's fun but nonetheless, classic number:

Else, check Nasty Gal's vamped up version:

Shoes are my absolute obsession (/weakness), I hope you love,

As it turns out - its harder than it looks!

So hi and welcome to my lifestyle blog!

I'll probably blog about books, makeup, food, clothes, holidays. Oh - and you'll probably meet the horse along the way too..

Happy Easter!
